The Vineyard

Petrushoeve Winery, located in the heart of Hageland in Bekkevoort, combines centuries-old tradition with modern viticulture. Since the takeover in 2010 by the Calders family, the historic square farm has evolved into a vibrant wine and experience center. With a strong focus on sustainability and biodiversity, the estate produces wines that reflect the unique terroir of the iron sandstone soil.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours, tastings, and even stay overnight in a wine barrel, right among the vines. Petrushoeve offers an authentic and welcoming experience for every wine lover.

The Founders

Gerry Calders, the driving force behind Petrushoeve, combines his background in horticulture and hospitality with a passion for wine. Together with his wife An and their family, he transformed the historic farm into a leading winery in Flemish Brabant.

With 12 hectares of vineyards, planted with both traditional and hybrid grape varieties, they aim to produce high-quality wines. Their dedication to sustainability and craftsmanship has led to various awards, both nationally and internationally.

Sustainable and Artisan

Petrushoeve adopts a sustainable and artisanal approach to wine production. By using resistant grape varieties such as Johanniter and Regent, they minimize the use of pesticides, contributing to a healthy biodiversity.

The iron sandstone soil of Hageland, which stores heat and releases it at night, ensures optimal ripening of the grapes. Hand harvesting and careful vinification result in wines with a distinctive character and finesse.

About the Wine

Petrushoeve is known for its sparkling wines, produced according to the traditional method. The Feniks Brut Rosé, a blend of grapes from Petrushoeve and another estate, offers a delicate mousse with aromas of red fruit and floral notes. Additionally, there is the P'TRUS Brut Nature Johanniter, an elegant and dry sparkling wine with no added sugars.

These sparkling wines are ideal as an aperitif and pair perfectly with a variety of dishes, from marinated starters to fusion cuisine.
