The Vineyard

Domaine Cuvelier is located in the heart of Haspengouw, between the rolling vineyards of Jesseren, Kerniel, and Haren. In this idyllic region of Limburg, also known as the Tuscany of Belgium, 13,500 vines ripen under the sun. What started with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir has grown into a diverse wine estate, now also featuring Grüner Veltliner and Sauvignon Blanc.

The focus is on producing top-quality sparkling wines, made using the méthode traditionnelle, complemented by still wines. Domaine Cuvelier is synonymous with family, passion, and terroir – a place where tradition and innovation harmoniously blend in every bottle.

The Founders

Domaine Cuvelier is a true family story. Brothers Yves and Patrick Cuvelier combine their love for fruit and wine in close cooperation. Yves, a fruit merchant, is the winemaker; Patrick, a fruit grower, oversees the vineyards. Yves' wife, Miet, also plays a key role with her creative and administrative involvement, along with daughters Astrid and Emma.

Since the planting of the first vines in 2000, the estate has grown into a mainstay in the Belgian wine world. With dedication, experience, and a healthy dose of entrepreneurial spirit, this family creates wines that speak of craftsmanship and connection.

Méthode Traditionnelle

At Domaine Cuvelier, everything is done with attention to detail and quality. The grapes are carefully grown on sloping plots in Haspengouw and hand-harvested. The sparkling wines are made according to the méthode traditionnelle, with a second fermentation in the bottle and long aging "sur lattes." This classic approach results in refinement, complexity, and an elegant mousse.

The still wines are born from experimentation and curiosity, with atypical grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Sauvignon Blanc. Every step from vine to bottle reflects the family’s vision: pure, artisanal, and full of character.

About the Wine

The sparkling wines of Domaine Cuvelier are distinctive and refined. CuBiz, the house cuvée, is a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. BizJoe, an extra brut Blanc de Noirs, surprises with character and freshness. Blanc de Biz combines Chardonnay and Grüner Veltliner into a soft, fruity bubble. Cuvée Emma, a rosé sparkling wine with fresh fruity aromas, was first bottled for the youngest daughter's communion.

Each wine is made with love and precision and is perfect as an aperitif or for festive occasions – Belgian bubbles with a family heart.
