The Founders

Behind the wines of Château d’Annevoie are three passionate individuals. Leopold Loumaye, a cardiologist and the visionary behind the vineyard project, combines science and terroir with a sustainable outlook. His father, Ernest-Tom Loumaye, a biotech entrepreneur and heritage enthusiast, embraces the estate as a family and cultural endeavor.

Oenologist Damien Briard brings decades of winemaking experience and oversees each vinification process with precision and dedication. Together, they form a strong trio that unites nature, tradition, and innovation to create refined, local premium wines that reflect Annevoie’s unique character. A story of passion, craftsmanship, and respect for the land.

About the Wine

This elegant wine seduces with aromas of apple, dried fruit, and a hint of vanilla. Its sparkling mouthfeel, round structure, and refined notes of citrus, white flowers, and white fruit make it irresistible.

Perfect with sauced fish, white meats, cheese, and citrus or chocolate-based desserts. The wine is the result of a harmony between grape variety and terroir, inspired by Burgundy and Bordeaux traditions with a South African twist. The Johanniter is hand-harvested and cool-fermented to preserve its aroma, with lees ageing for extra depth, length, and character. Authentic, modern, and full of expression.
