The Vineyard

Wijndomein Hoogenhove, located in Aarsele, West Flanders, was founded in 2018 by the Everaert family. On the sandy loam soils surrounding their home, they planted classic grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Acolon.

The name 'Hoogenhove' refers to a historical feudal estate that once stood on this site. With a focus on sparkling wines produced using the traditional method, the estate combines family passion with artisanal winemaking. Visitors are welcome for guided tours and tastings, where they can enjoy the serene surroundings and the estate’s characterful wines.

The Founders

The Everaert family is the beating heart of Wijndomein Hoogenhove. Hans Everaert, originally a plasterer, learned the art of winemaking from Martin Bacquaert of the Entre-Deux-Monts winery.

Together with his wife Katty and their children, including their son Emiel, daughter Michelle, and son-in-law Bram, he runs the estate with dedication. Although they all have primary occupations outside of viticulture, they share a deep passion for wine, which is reflected in their meticulous approach and the quality of their products.

Emiel is training to become a winemaker in the Champagne region. With the knowledge he gains there, they hope to further refine their wines and continue developing the winery.

Méthode Traditionnelle

At Wijndomein Hoogenhove, the sparkling wines are crafted using the traditional method. The handpicked grapes undergo a first fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a second fermentation in the bottle. The Polyd’or Brut is aged for at least 18 months on the lees, while the Polyd’or Rosé rests for a minimum of 12 months.

Both wines result in fresh, fruity bubbles with fine effervescence. This careful production process highlights the quality and craftsmanship of the estate.

About the Wine

Wijndomein Hoogenhove offers two sparkling wines: Polyd’or Brut and Polyd’or Rosé. The Polyd’or Brut, made from 100% Chardonnay, delivers a fresh and fruity flavor, ideal as an aperitif or paired with light fish dishes. The Polyd’or Rosé, a blend of Chardonnay and Acolon, stands out with its pale pink hue and playful character, perfect for summer occasions.

Both wines are the result of precise craftsmanship and reflect the Everaert family's passion for high-quality sparkling wines.
