A historic year for Belgian sparkling wines at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles!

The Sparkling Wines Session of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2025, held in early September in Moldova, has just announced its results. The 62 Belgian entries produced an unrivalled list of winners: for the first time, Belgian sparkling wines – or “Belbul” – won a total of 22 medals: 1 Grand Gold Medal, 9 Gold Medals and 12 Silver Medals. This is all the more remarkable given that the competition was particularly fierce this year. Belgian sparkling wines are therefore confirming their international popularity and their ever-improving quality. Among the awards, the Grand Gold Medal awarded to Domaine du Chant d'Eole for its iconic Cuvée Réserve 2019 is particularly noteworthy, a performance that earned it the Grand Gold Medal, the competition's highest distinction. It should be noted that Chant d'Eole won the International Revelation award at the competition in 2019. Several Belgian producers also confirmed their excellence by winning several awards:
• Cruysem: 2 Silver Medals
• Entre-Deux-Monts: 2 Gold Medals
• Wijndomein Vandersteene: 2 Gold Medals
• Monts des Anges: 2 Silver Medals
• Vignoble des Agaises (Ruffus): 1 Gold Medal and 1 Silver Medal
• Wijnkasteel Genoelselderen: 1 Gold Medal and 1 Silver Medal
• Vin de Liège: 1 Gold Medal and 1 Silver Medal
